Categories of Competition

Multimedia Presentation

Student(s) will demonstrate a multimedia presentation which he/she has created. This may be a PowerPoint, Keynote, Hyperstudio, Flash, Ezedia, or other multimedia presentation.

  • The time for student(s) to present the project is limited to 7 minutes.
  • Maximum Number of Entries: 24 in Middle School; 24 in High School.

Social Media Innovation Presentation

Student(s) will demonstrate the student-led use of social media as it applies to an educational environment.

  • The time for student(s) to present the project is limited to 7 minutes.
  • Maximum Number of Entries: 24 in Middle School; 24 in High School.

Video Production

Student(s) will present an original video production that informs the audience of:

"School News", "Sports", or "Information Feature"

Students may present the video in Quicktime, AVI, Windows Media Player, or Real Player. The video format must be platform independent (ie. Compatible with both Mac/Windows).

Media must be playable from student provided laptop - no VHS or DVD player will be available.

  • Video Presentations are limited to 5 minutes for the video with a 2 minute introduction.
  • Total presentation time is limited to 7 minutes.
  • Maximum Number of Entries: 24 in Middle School; 24 in High School.

Video Production - Public Service Announcement

A Public Service Announcement, or PSA, is a non-commercial ad with a goal to change people’s attitudes about a particular social issue.

Student(s) will present an original video production that informs the audience on the topic:

"Living Green"

Students should create a video that highlights how they or their community is "living green".

Your video must be 2 to 3 minutes, no more. If credits are at the end of the video, they need to be after the 3 minute (or end of the video) mark, credits will NOT count against your time.

No trademarked, copyrighted or branded materials, logos, products, etc., can be used without written permission from the owner or business.

Guidelines on Content

  1. Be creative and unique.
  2. Entries must contain all original material (including music, images, etc.).
  3. Written permission for copyrighted material must be presented to the Judges at the competition.
  4. PSA must contain a title slide for "Living Green".
  5. PSAs must not contain any profanity or nudity.

Website Design

Students will compete and present an original website in an open category for school web pages, teacher web pages, community web pages, etc. Web pages MUST BE student designed. You may not present someone else's work.

  • Presentation is limited to 7 minutes.
  • Maximum Number of Entries: 24 in Middle School; 24 in High School.
